READERS: Incredible Love and Gratitude to everyone who has or will purchase one of the Annu Publishing Works. Where possible, please place your purchase directly with the manufacturer. This may be done by clicking on the link below. While my work may be purchased in local stores and on line retailers by seeking it out, I receive greater support with purchases from the publisher. Everyone who has bought my work is surprised by how really refreshing, good, real and unique it is. I've even laughed when I've been told that was so good it should have been published. I used to say "huh?" But now I simply laugh and tell them that because it's so good publishers won't publish it until I have a readership--they're too controversial. (if that is unclear look at the author's note appearing under my picture on the last page of this site). And if I've got a readership, why get a publisher? It's like a freeman walking up to a plantation and putting on the shackles and brand. I don't do this independantly because the Works are unworthy of publication. I do it independantly to maintain control of the work, to maintain integrity, and to have the promise of greater economic return. The dream lives!!!!! Kamau Atem Works are truly too universal, too strong, so much love of self and all others while being poetic, hot like fire and down like gravity or up like the sun all at once. Truly there is no voice like mine on the market. And no one tells me what to write so you get the fresh heat of the street and the spirit of the ancestors.... Since I try to take full advantage of Independant Publishing, Kamau Atem Works are intended to be a visual experience inside and out. You may find multiple versions of covers for the same story. This gives an opportunity to artists who have so thankfully contributed their work as well as choice to you the reader.For example The Book of Becoming Awake Again, which houses all three novellas of the trilogy, has a black cover and a white cover. There are also upcoming Works with multiple covers which are not simply a different color but depiction as well. Be rest assured that the exact same story is contained with in that different cover. I will release a cover some day, if I can ever stop writing long enough to work on drawing/painting it. Currently I've only only fully created the cover to Dark Water on my own using computer generated images. Please also be aware that several of the Works are offered in hardcover and appear at the bottom of the display after all the original Works have been presented.
